All right. I have moved. I just made a new account. Why? Because I'm sick of this one. xD; I feel way too much like a weeaboo with this account name, and, indeed, I used to be very much like a weeaboo. So I've moved. I can now be found at thanktheguy. Not really anything there yet, obviously. And I plan on refriending and doing the whole layout thing soon enough. It'll get done. (= Good times, Ecci Chu ~ But now you are derived from a song from the 60's, and that will (hopefully) never change. (=

OSNAP. I just thought about the adjusting of my mood theme. OBOY =D;;;;

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaaaaha. askghalshgalskgha. Mmmmmmm.

See that man? See that man right there? That, everyone who doesn't read this LJ, is Matthew Smith, the newly announced (newly meaning this very day) Eleventh. Doctor.

At first, I didn't like him. Mildly unattractive, weird hair, but real Doctor-y when you get down to it. But the more I looked at him, the more I liked him. And then I saw the interview. He's aboslutely adorable, and at this point, my opinion has changed completely. Very attractive, wicked hair, and as Matthew Smith, he seems very Tenth-Doctor, so I can't wait to see what his character as the Doctor is going to be like.

Of course, every good thing has it's catch. He won't be showing his beautiful face as Mr. Eleven until 2010. Back in June, I was depressed because David Tennant was leaving and even then, I'd have a two year wait until I could see what was going on in the Doctor's life - and worse yet, in those two years I would be in an entirely different place! Who knew if I'd have access to Doctor Who at all?! Now, I'm excited, because I've seen the replacement, I'm not at all disappointed (silly me, thinking Tennant was irreplaceable. I can only imagine the fuss when Tom Baker left.) And? I only have about a year left, and hopefully that will fly by. And hey, even if I don't have convenient access to the new series, there's always the internet, right?

Here's to Matthew Smith, and a wonderful new Doctor-"patient" relationship ~ ;D

For your viewing pleasure, those of you who don't read this LJ, here's the DW Confidential of the unveiling as well as Matt's extended interview.
Interview
Whole DW Confidential

Har. Watch Matt's hands in the interview. I mentioned him acting like the Tenth. He sounds intelligent, he seems a tad scatterbrained, and he fidgets. Adorable.
An added bonus is that David is interviewed throughout the DWC, so you can hear his lovely native accent as well (Scottish <3)

In other news, Holiday (Pastafarian, erm, holiday) has passed. I got a bunch of lovely things. I got a few Doctor Who things, of course, along with several other assorted geekthings (yay thinkgeek.com) Laser Screwdriver, Jack Harkness action figure, action figure of Jamie - the Empty Child, "little boy in a gas mask". Sweet, extremely detailed figure of Altair from Assassin's Creed, as well. Otherwise, I got books. D*U*C*K, by Poppy Z. Brite. And a signed copy, at that <3 The Book of the Law. Aleister Crowley, of course. A bunch of Perry Mason, and other assorted odds and ends. All in all, good times and good things. <3

Best of all, though?

MATT SMITH. =D;;;;; Oh, I do feel sorry for my friends and family. They'll be hearing this until the first episode airs . . . or rather, until I see it. (I would very much like for American channels to be in line with the English. I hate watching everything a season too late, but it's not so easy tracking it all down on the internet.)

(PS. Benjamin Button? Do see it. Don't expect the short story, but enjoy it as a standalone film who happens to share a protagonist. Indeed, the only similarities are his name and affliction. The entire story is changed. Which is why I can still enjoy it. It's hard to complain about differences when there aren't any similarities.)

Hrm. Hrmhrmhrm. I kind of feel like recording my conversations for a day. Or a week. Or something like that. Y'know, just to find out how crazy I sound. In a ten minute conversation I mention building a gallows in my front yard, hanging some nine year old Australian kid, and hoping a bear invades our house, attracted by the scent of the decaying body. In that same conversation, I go on about how I'm going to end up watching a lot of House lately. Hugh Laurie is replacing David Tennant. Cause, y'know, the Doctor broke up with me and all. And millions of other people. And a lot more things took place in that conversation that are just completely random and possibly psychotic. I'd love to hire someone to just live in my mind for a while and try to make sense of my thought processes.

Unfortunately, I can't really use a bad break up as an excuse, as not only is it recent, but I'm already starting to move on. I still believe there should be some convention. Like, a huge group therapy for all of the Doctor's jilted lovers. I'm sure we could use it. In that vein, I nominate Hugh Laurie for the eleventh Doctor, as Tennant most likely isn't coming back, that bastard, and I think a House-like Doctor would be the single most amazing thing ever. (Not that we could ask Hugh Laurie to play House, MD and the Doctor; House, but oh well.)

The good news? I got Trauma Center.

The bad news? IMing has corrupted me (I always press the shift key when I hit enter for a line break no matter what I'm typing in, including LJ) and Trauma Center sucks. I constantly shift between loving it and hating it, and right now I'm the latter. Haven't played it in days. I just kind of stare at it and curse at it, because I hate stupid diseases that won't die.

Much lulz at Hellboy 2. I'm not sure if it's worthy of pay or not, but definitely see it. x3 Pretty good for an action flick, but as the action genre goes, it was awfully lacking in plot. Once again, no failing in comedy, and the direction? Well. It's Guillermo del Toro. That's all that needs to be said.

However, there is one part that is just . . . golden (har. unintentional pun.) See, Red is . . . walking around or something (I totally don't remember what happens immediately before or after the Golden Moment) and hears a sappy, overdone lovesong coming from Abe's quarters. He opens the doors and it's immediately switched to the classical classical music of Abe's interests. Hellboy is not convinced, and as they exchange woman troubles Abe puts "I Can't Smile Without You" by one Barry Manilow back on, and as the two lounge on the floor, drinking beer, they start singing. First Abe, and then Hellboy joins in, and there are a few comedic shots of people through the rest of the facilities hearing the distant music and unlikely chorus.

All in all, it's quite lovely and just utterly hilarious. I would recommend seeing this film just for this wonderful scene, that I am doing no justice to (as I was trying to keep it short and vague.)

GOOD NEWS, though. For both Barry Manilow and myself. (Surely downloads/purchases for that song will spike with the feature in Hellboy.) The good news for myself is entirely different. My bestest buddy ever, le monsieur, Muffin d'Angst, seems to have plans for moving cancelled. Just a couple of months ago some events happened - namely a divorce - that prompted his move to another city, however, there was serious trouble in the new location and he and his family came back here for a temporary stay. He and I have spent a lot of time at the cinema in the last couple of months (in case you haven't noticed (that I've been going to the cinema a lot, that is)) to just hang out. However, upon dropping him off back at his place today, there was news awaiting him that things were starting to settle down and there was a very high possibility of just staying at their current location. Of course, I do not think of this as a bad thing, though he does (as he rather liked where he went, and nobody likes living here. Rarely to people get out, though.) But still, I will ignore his grouchiness at this and grin for myself.

GYAKUTEN KENJI: TURNABOUT PROSECUTOR

I figure I'm as slow to the news as I usually am, but right now I'm serious excited about the new Ace Attorney (Perfect Prosecutor? ;3) game. Like, clawing-my-face-excited. Shuddering-fists-in-front-of-shoulders-excited. Basically? I'm acting like a teenage girl on steroids (which . . . would that really be far from the truth? ;D) HOWEVER, I have reason to be. And I'm going to declare that reason as if I'm not the absolute last person to learn about it ~

As it says above, Gyakuten Kenji: Turnabout Prosecutor. I'm not sure if it can be called an installment to the Ace Attorney series, considering that it's not really an Ace Attorney game, but still. It's like all the rest, except not. =D; The protagonist is none other than one seriously Perfect Prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth. The protagonist's assistant is none other than one seriously cuddly and adorkable detective, Dick Gumshoe (and I might be lying, I'm just relying on the trailer images, considering I don't know any Japanese and I kind of doubt it would explicitly say something like "Your assistant is Dick Gumshoe" or anything.) The game is . . . well, like all the rest, only it's flipped. Clearly. You'd hardly be playing as Edgeworth with Gumshoe helping you (all right, maybe not, considering Gumshoe does help out Nick quite a bit, but REGARDLESS . . . ) if you were still a defense attorney. My reaction? : OMIGODGETTABEAPROSECUTOR.

rargh. Definitely excited, and I'm probably going to go right back and watch the trailer on the official site again. =D Talk about amazing news. AND I definitely suggest anyone who is interested and who hasn't already (which, knowing me, is likely no one) to check out the trailer. There seems to be a ton of new gameplay elements, which will be neat. Kind of makes me wonder about future Ace Attorney games, too. I wonder if the fact that the most important aspect of the game being flipped also prompted change in gameplay, as well. I, for one, wouldn't mind if it was Ace Attorney as a prosecutor, but I definitely understand where they'd want to have changes. After all, I know I definitely don't speak for the masses with my interests.

If you want to start from the beginning, you can. Just take out the "/Firstfive/exor.htm". The answer to this puzzle would go in the URL where 'exor' is, and so on after that.

It's embarrassingly the third puzzle in the series. xD; And I have a few hints of my own for you.

You know the drawing? It's showing something called semaphore, a type of communication through flags. The position the figure in the drawing is holding represents the letter "L". Indeed, L is the closest to being correct out of the entire alphabet. Trust me, we've tried (myself and two others have been working on it xD; ) L gets to a page that says the answer is wrong, while every other letter just gives a 404 page. That means the creator expected that mistake, and thus, it's the closest to correct.

Any hints, or even the right answer, are appreciated. This is driving me insane. =D

I hate the world and the world hates me ~ =D

Guh. Last three weeks have been miserable. (Don't ya just love how I'll disappear for months and then come back so casually as if I do this every day? =D) Bronchitis, the flu, a temperature of 103 degrees (That's why they call me Mr. Fahrenheit ~ ;D) and bleeding. Like, the girl kind. All together in the span of three weeks, and most of them simultaneous. I think I have more than enough reason to turn emo. At least temporarily. And for, er, 74 hours now I've had a migraine that makes me want to lay down and die. It feels like my skull is halving. Gee, when I got my cell phone I should have gone with the RAZR. (yaybadpun)

Though, my BJD's body did show up and he's all assembled now. All that's left is clothes. And to redo his face. I have a new grudge against eyebrows. He looks just fine and dandy but the eyebrows.

HOWEVER. My dad made me get rid of Bobjay. :< AND he put a new computer in his place. I'm using some newer model computer now that thinks it can worm its way into my life. It'll never replace Bobjay, though. He's been with me through everything. :< He can't be replaced. Though . . . *cough* the increased space is kinda nice. >_> BUT THAT WON'T WIN ME.

Yes. That's right. I'm complaining about getting a new computer when my old one wouldn't even stay working for five minutes at a time. =D

Almost a month ago I went to a theatre and saw The Producers. It was brilliant. x3 Of course, I expected that, because I absolutely love that musical, but, hey. =D And I was impressed with their Lead Tenor. He sounded almost exactly like John Barrowman . . . xDDDD *too big of a Barrowman fan for her own good* (Which, John Barrowman played the Lead Tenor in the film adaptation, and as I was walking to the theatre, I had to laugh at myself as I knew I'd end up comparing their Lead Tenor to John. xDD)

Reading Good Omens. Again. And though I'm sure I've mentioned it before, YOU NEED TO READ IT. lyksrsly. This is my fourth time reading it, maybe fifth, in four years. Which, despite it's general awesomeness, it's also a great stress reliever. Y'know those times when everything just feels so heavy? When you feel worthless and everything you do seems to back this up? When you just want to drop everything, curl up in a safe place, and cry? The last few weeks have been like that for me, and though temporary, GO certainly does make me feel better. It's kind of like Queen. Queen numbs my headaches and symptoms of illness for some reason. GO does that. Which. xD Queen is actually mentioned a lot in Good Omens and their lyrics are quoted a lot. ERM. YEAH. THIS PARAGRAPH SOUNDS RETARDED. =D AHAHAHAHAH.

Yeeeeeeah.

Oh, and by the way o= Anybody happen to have details on whether somebody will die fast if their jugular vein is severed or their carotid artery? Or are they about equal? =D

And that's it. I'm going back to trying to get my muse back through some means. I want so badly to write or draw something. x_x

I just really needed to type. ANd I thought "HEY. LJ." Even though I wasn't away from this as long as I'd thought. x3

ohohoho! o= Sweeney is freaking amazing. Likenosrsly. Yeah. Saw it a while ago, but never made commentary.

A lot of it, especially the blood, is pathetically fake looking, but somehow it works. And it was obviously intentional, as I know they could have done so much better with it. But it works.

And I will admit, maybe the casting wasn't done so badly . . . The guy they picked actually did well with it. Helena Bonham Carter portrayed Mrs. Lovett really well (except for during her first scene. That was just . . . . not good.) And I am also disappointed in how it was that Toby found out they were baking people :\ Not the hair. Not the fingernail afterward. He pulled a whole section of a finger out of his mouth. Er . .. no. They also skipped his best line, and left out his being arrested in the end, but those I can excuse. x3 Though it's totally that much better (not to mention twisted) when he timidly speaks, "You shouldn't harm people, Mr. Todd." before he slits Mr. Todd's throat. x3

But yeah. For actually having hopes for a film for once, and very much expecting to be disappointed . . I was impressed. Mark the date on the calendar, as I have just admitted being impressed with a film. And it takes something mighty fine for me to find it event decent. x3 And the more I thought about it afterward, the more I liked it.

Though . . . sakljfaslgkj I wish I had normal dreams sometimes o< There's the recurring one about Marilyn Manson, Xavier Roide and I in the back of a van with an unknown driver. We're cruising around a parking lot on the lookout for pilotfish . . . >_> And until then I had believed that I weirdly didn't dream about my fandoms. But 'lo and behold. Doctor Who. xD; Usually my weird dreams include celebrities, but not those I'm huge fans of. So I wouldn't count them as fandom dreams. x3 And then last night, out of nowhere, and I fear this one will become recurring as well, was Ray Liotta, this one girl from school, and I. Only we were all men in drag for the Italian mafia. xD; And we were at this farmhouse in Kansas (can you guess where I'm going with this? xD; ) And somehow Liotta made the prettiest girl out of all of us, despite his being the only male o= BUT ANYWAY. There were a couple of visits from Glinda. Y'know, the good witch. And then we broke out into song a couple of times. Not Wicked songs, strangely. Just songs that I think don't even exist o= But yeah. We danced around the farm and had a brilliant time. That is, until I woke up and wondered, yet again, what I had been smoking.

XDD; Oh dear. My dreams. The things I could live without. xD; Though the Ray Liotta dream was, like, wonderfully scripted. xDD; I think, like, a movie could be made from it (with some . . adjustments xDDD; ) and would be a brilliant seller. I was thinking about making a file on it and storing it for next year's NaNoWriMo. xD Yeah, it had that great of a plot (though it never really developed all that much as we were too busy singing o= )

Erm. Yeah. I'll disappear for a few months again. ;D

I'm not actually expecting much out of it. I think the casting is all wrong for Mrs. Lovett. Not doubting the ability of Helena Bonham Carter, but . . . she's too pretty. Her voice is too pretty; too soft. She's just not Mrs. Lovett.

And Anthony . . . D: They cast this little girly man for Anthony. Anthony the sailor who directed the boat back to England for Sweeney. Anthony Hope; hero. . . . Ew.

However, Sacha Baron Cohen (well known for the role of Borat) is actually quite pleasing. He makes an excellent Signor Pirelli. And his voice. Wow. He's really good. =D

Speaking of, I'm quite impressed with Johnny Depp. The man isn't the greatest when it comes to singing, but god damn is he good.

And . .. yeah. xD; Abrupt end to what isn't really anything, but, hey ~ x3

Any of you out there like role playing and/or eschatology? And a member of Gaia? Because I'm trying to start up an RP on Gaia centering around the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, but there is next to no interest.

Oh, thar't is!
